Where do I start?
If you are new to GIS, start with ArcGIS 1 Fundamentals of ArcGIS 10.x for Desktop, if you are new to ArcGIS but have previous experience of GIS you could consider starting with our ArcGIS 2 - Essentials of ArcGIS 10.x for Desktop course. For help choosing the right starting point, please get in touch.

If my colleagues all want to do the same course – can we have a course onsite?

Which software version is the course based on?
The courses will be based on either V10, V10.1 or V10.7, this information can be found in the course information. If required we can train on V9.2, 9.3 or V9.3.1 – if you require training on these versions please contact us – bestgistraining@gmail.com

I want to publish a map to the web, which course should I take?
ArcGIS for Server: Sharing Content on the Web is a great course to start with to show how simple this process can be. Our Building Web Applications using the ArcGIS API for either Flex or JavaScript courses also covers the variety of methods for map publishing.

I want to publish a map to the web but I don't have ArcGIS Server.
This can be achieved using ArcGIS Online, our 2 day Getting the most from your ArcGIS Online Subcription course will help you with this.

I have booked a scheduled training course – what happens next?
Thank you for your booking! Once you have completed the booking form you will receive an email stating that your booking has been received. Please note all bookings remain provisional until 2 weeks before the course scheduled start date. Once the course is confirmed joining instructions will be sent by email which contains the following information:

- Confirmation that the training course is going ahead.

- Location details for the training venue with directions.

- The training course outline.

- Link to the Pre-Course Questionnaire

If the course will not be running for any reason, Best GIS Training will contact you by telephone or email 2 weeks prior to the course commencement day.

Does Best GIS Training book accommodation for delegates?
No, Best GIS Training does not book accommodation for delegates. Hotel information will be sent to you in your joining instructions which has a selection of accommodation available for each training venue.

Does Best GIS Training book travel to the course venues for delegates?
Travel is the delegate’s responsibility. Best GIS Training assume no responsibility for non-refundable travel arrangement losses resulting from course scheduling changes or cancellations. We will however communicate any proposed changes at the earliest opportunity.

What happens if I need to reschedule or cancel attendance to a scheduled course?
As per our terms and conditions: if you are unable to attend a course, a substitute participant may attend in your place at no extra charge provided that you advise Best GIS Training in writing at least 10 business days in advance. If you reschedule your training course (in writing) at least 10 business days prior to your original course booking then no penalties apply. If you are unable to attend the course and the notification period is less than 10 business days the full Course Fee shall remain chargeable.

What happens if I need to reschedule or cancel a training course being delivered at our offices?
As per our terms and conditions, if a course is cancelled more than 15 business days before the course start date no penalties apply. If the course is cancelled and the notification period is less than 15 business days the full course fee shall remain chargeable.

Do I need to bring anything to the Best GIS Training training courses?
All material is provided at the training centre.
